I decided as soon as I graduated highschool that I wanted to move to south Florida. I did what I needed to get here, and there were many changes I faced when I made the move.
1.) my physical appearance and personality changed
I felt like I couldn’t be myself in my hometown! I knew too many people and had to conform to a certain way to get people to like me. I tried to experiment with my appearance and it ended with me being judged and hating how I looked. Moving allowed me to have a fresh slate, and living near Miami you have a large beauty influence which helped me achieve how I always wanted to look and feel. My personality changed as well, I’m able to be myself and it’s easier for me to find people with common interests
2.) scenic change
I definetly miss the Maine mountains , but love the cities I get to visit while living in soflo. I’ve always been a city girl
3.) starting fresh means that you know NOBODY. I have no family down here. My boyfriends family became my own and my support system became the friends I made along the way. I can no longer call my dad or mom if my car breaks down or something happens, which is probably the worst part. Having a strong support system is good
4.) I was able to be myself . I picked south Florida for a reason! Both my jobs allow me to do what I love, along with content creation and city exploring; and the beach too! All my favorite things. My seasonal depression went away and I’m living the life I always dreamed.
5.) you’ll always miss home a little. I miss my family a lot and the “comfort” of being surrounded by my family and familiarity, but I always remind myself why I left and that has helped
Follow me to go through life with me, it’s been crazy🥹🎀🩷
