Convincing parents to let you solo travel pt. 2

Convincing your parents to let you solo travel can be a tricky task. It’s scary for them to imagine you out on your own in the world, but we can fix that!!

Here are some ways that have helped me convince my parent to let me solo travel ⬇️

1. Making a list of pros and cons

Showing a big list of pros and cons (with a lot more pros than cons) really helped my dad understand my reasoning and motivation for wanting to go and made him think it would have many positives.

2. In addition to a pros and cons list, I explained all of the skills I would be learning that I couldn’t learn in school: skills like personal finance, independence, exposure to new cultures, planning skills, etc.

3. If all else fails, my personal method was just to go anyways!!!! If you’re 18+ and financially independent you have no reason not to go. You deserve to follow your dreams!
