Finally after 3 months of renovation, the kitchen is in its final form partially furnished. In my chipandi home concept, the kitchen is emphasised alot on pandi which is japan and scandinavian that focuses on maximising space and utility with simple designs and lines.

1. Cabinets and drawers are predominantly made from enamel which is made from molten glass and magnetic metal giving it both the good traits of glass and the metal. Most importantly, it is magnetic by nature so I can hang magnetic downlights on the bottom of the top cabinet. We bought magnetic racks to keep stuff hanging on the backsplash and drawers. Will feature those awesome accessories when I move in!

2. Appliances. We went for Japanese brands like fujioh for hob and hood and Panasonic for the fridge. This fridge is everything we wanted from opening of both sides (to optimise space between island), separate ice compartment for hygiene, many other separate compartments for fridge and freezer and various modes to save energy. Had wanted to go for fujioh built-in oven but it is too much of a luxury. Gonna try mayer for now and we managed to get both ovens at black colour which matches our entire kitchen. Getting a built-in oven was an afterthought so we had to measure precisely to ensure we find a suitable model. We also got a water dispenser from Japanese brand +-0 which is surprisingly affordable at $100+ with a 4.5L capacity, does not need filter and can dispense cold water and boiling water! We never liked the concept of filter water as the price tag is not justifiable and water may be even dirtier than what you expect (go watch cna insider)!

3. Sintered stone top. This is a good-to-have if you have budget. we got it from vulcan and we got the honed surface finished which has both the pros of matt and shiny finishes! It elevates the whole feel of the kitchen and makes it feel clean and slick. We chose massimo which has a just enough and overdoing the marbling effect.

4. Lights. We have lots of lights to create the different mood. Pendant light featuring the Norwegian alps which can provide cool white to warm light. Track lights to increase overall brightness and manually adjustable across 3 types of light too. Built-in white light for eye level dish rack. Built-in warm light for bottom of island to create the cosy mood especially at night and also for the display rack on island. White light from the cooker hood. Last but no least, we bought thin magnetic light "sabres" that can be attached to our cabinets without screws or glue! They can sense motion and light up for 30s and switch off after that. They can give all 3 types of light and dimmable too!! A must-have as this can save cost from having to install downlights in kitchen.
