My journey as a self taught artist

Ever since I could hold a pencil I’ve been an artist.

What is an artist? Someone who creates art regardless of materials, talents, or skill level

I remember growing up asking for packs of printer paper for Christmas bc all I wanted to do was draw. I drew everything I could, I made up little stories, drew my surroundings, anything I could.

When I got into elementary I would use my spiral notebooks as sketch books and check out the “how to draw” books from the school library.

Once I got into junior high I started drifting away from it. Became busy, had other interests, didn’t find art as appealing.

Then in highschool, tiktok saved my art. All the challenges of painting your shoes, your calculators, any little cute pictures on random objects. I started doing art again.

Now I have experimented with tons of different mediums (and will experiment with more this fall semester) and I have an art account where I share my work and connect with other artists who share similar interests as me.
