THE BEST MARRIAGE ADVICE I can give after 2 years🤭

This past week, my husband and I celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary in the Dominican Republic. It was incredible. Here are a few pieces of marriage advice I’ve picked up over the past 2 years…

Getting upset over little things is NOT WORTH IT! - I’ve learned to let things go. Getting upset over him not changing the toilet paper roll or leaving clothes on the floor will just cause unnecessary tension. If it’s that important to me, I’ll have a quick talk about it and then let it goooo.

Building a friendship is ABSOLUTELY VITAL - we are truly the happiest when we feel like best friends. When we can tease each other and laugh over little things. When we truly enjoy each other’s company. This also realllyy helps with intimacy! If I don’t feel like besties, intimacy does not come easy for me.

If you go a little while without sex, it doesn’t mean your marriage is failing - having sex often is great, but there will be those weeks where you’re both soo busy and things get in the way. At first, it almost felt like we weren’t doing so well, but I’ve learned that we can still have an extremely healthy and happy marriage even if we skip out on that time in the bedroom.

It’s okay to have bad days - we are all human and we all have those days where we’re stressed, sad, hopeless, etc. It’s important as a spouse to understand that and not take it personally! Be there for your spouse a little extra those days :)
