This adorable town is just 30 mins from Nashville

Nashville is a big, fun city with lots of energy, honky tonks, BBQ, and more! But did you know that just driving 30 minutes south will take you to some authentic country towns?

I lived in Nashville for two years and one of my favourite places to visit on a weekend was the small town of Leipers Fork ! Here are some reasons why:

Leiper's Fork Distillery Leiper’s Fork might be a tiny (one street) town, but it has its own whiskey distillery! They serve a range of whiskeys and whiskey based cocktails for you to try on their wonderful patio with live music. I personally recommend booking the full tour of the distillery to learn about the process of whisky making and tastes some of their whiskies. The tour is $24 which includes tastings.

Wines in the Fork This little spot was one of my favorite activities in all of Tennessee and we have been there several times when it’s a sunny day. Wines in the Fork has wine for sale and tastings, and on the weekends in summer you can enjoy free live music. One of the reasons I love this place is that you can can bring along your own picnic, then buy a glass of wine, and have a wonderful day while dipping your toes in the nearby creek. For a special event, you can even book one of their monthly “dinner in the creek” events where you can enjoy gourmet food barefoot sitting in the creek under the twinkling lights.

Fox & Locke Formerly Puckett’s, Fox and Locke is the go-to restaurant for traditional Tennessee food, including some excellent BBQ. Every time we are in Leipers Fork we stop here for lunch and I suggest you do the same. They also do live music on the weekends, so you can enjoy some authentic country music with you meal.

Antique and Art Shopping: There are several high-end antique and art shops in Leiper’s Fork, including Patina (my fave store!), The Copper Fox Gallery, and Creekside Trading. Another nice activity is to browse these stores after lunch and pick up some souvenirs to remember your time in Tennessee.
