📚 More Days At The Morisaki Bookshop re-invites readers to Jimbocho street - where second hand bookstores breathe and immortalise time with their presence.

🫶🏽 We see a glimpse of Takako’s current life; visiting the bookstore, trying to form a deeper bond with her uncle and maintain her relationship. But what is different from the first book?

🫂 Momoko’s death was introduced as a page stopper, but in a way that makes you ache for the characters. The calmness she had during her last days and the love shown by Satoru and Takako exemplifies how we deal with a sudden news of our loved one’s last days on Earth.

🕰️ The Morisaki Bookshop is now a place holding the past of Momoko. Her bickering with Satoru, her interactions with Takako lives in the walls, overlooking Satoru and Takako as they move on with their lives. When reading this I thought about how objects and spaces hold memories, we often look at an object and think “ah remember that time when I…”

Overall, this book is one to comfort, remind and reassure readers of the possibility of a beautiful today.
