food to eat in seoul 😋🇰🇷

hey guys lemme share with you the food that i ate when i was in seoul a month ago! 💬

📍myeongdong food street (7/10)

- how can you go to myeongdong without trying their food stalls at night while shopping?! 🛍️

- imo, don’t expect to be full from the food stalls as they are more of snacks like fishcake skewers, fried chicken, drinks, tteokbokki etc~

- super super packed & busy night life, food prices start from KRW2500! $

📍eggdrop @ hongdae (6.5/10)

- no dining seats except for 1 small table that can only fit 2-3 ppl at most 😖

- food was mid & can be quite jelak! food prices start from KRW5000-6000! (for ala carte) $

📍cafe mignon (9.5/10)

- pricey fruit tarts but so good & aesthetically pleasing 👁️👄👁️

- about KRW4000 for 1? $

- i purchased this like 3x during my 1 week stay in seoul, there’s many outlets like myeongdong, chungmuro station etc etc 👍🏻

📍gwangjang market (8.5/10)

- the ahjumma in the pic was so nice to give us portable fans bcos it was SO HOT that day 😔

- the noodles was amazing & i enjoyed the fishcake soup 💗 noodles were about KRW8000-10000! $

- defo worth the experience to try this kind of market stalls ✨

- & i got to try their traditional hotteok from the same gwangjang market, it was so so good! i highly recommend it, it’s rlly crispy & filled with lots of stuffing! 😋 kinda forgot the price but i think it’s like 3 for KRW10000-12000? 😅 $

📍wangbijib @ myeongdong (1000/10)

- yup myeongdong street have restaurants as well apart from their street food stalls, this restaurant was very famous for their KBBQ! 🥩

- service is amazing, don’t have to worry about cooking/grilling bcos they do it for you! ⭐️⭐️ just eat happily & enjoy the banchans bcos it’s SO DELICIOUS 🫶🏻

- pls trust me & try their makgeolli, im not good with rice wine/soju/beer but their makgeolli was SO SMOOTH, i drank 5 cups of it 😭

- price wise is rather expensive! we ordered 3 meat, 2 soju & 1 makgeolli with 5 bowls of rice & the bill added up to KRW133000! $$$

📍soha salt pond (9/10)

- another must try place! great for breakfast, but go early as the queue can be long 😖

- their breads are rlly soft, do try the original & the truffle one! ✨

- price is about KRW3500 onwards!!

📍rosso 1924 (7/10)

- quite pricey as you need to get 1 pizza per pax & pizzas can be as pricey as KRW20000 for one! $$

- for 5 pizzas, it was about KRW70000+ with no drinks! but the atmosphere is good tho 🩵

📍sommunan gamjatang (7/10)

- it was raining heavily that day so this was such a good hot food ✨

- thank god we came in early (11.30am+) bcos it got so so crowded during lunch hours (12pm+)

- meat was soft & i loved the soup, can skip this place if you are not into pork bone soup! <3

- price for 5 pax was about KRW50000-60000 $$

📍cafe onion (6.5/10)

- imo, abit overhyped! BUT..it’s very aesthetic! the building & the layout was great for pictures! pastries were also aesthetic but pricey!

- can be very crowded even in the morning!

- price wise was KRW63000 for 6 pastries & 3 drinks! 🥤 $$

📍solsot pot rice house @ hannamdong (1000/10)

- worth the wait! pls go early & get your queue no. at around 4.30pm if possible! the crowd is crazy, i went early about 5pm & still had to wait for an hour before my turn! :<

- super yummy hot pot rice! do take note that you need to pre-order your food first to get your queue number! 😉

- very efficient service but the place is quite small for such a popular restaurant 🥹 which explains the long waiting time!

- price wise was KRW78000 for 5 sets! $$ not bad pricing! ⭐️⭐️

📍 traditional nongjang (8.5/10)

- located right next to oliveyoung! have KBBQ options just that we chose to eat their mains like the stew & naengmyeon!

- enjoyed their banchan as well!

- price wise was about KRW70000+ for 5 pax! $$

📍changhwadang ikseon (5.5/10)

- i loved their dumplings, super crispy & generously filled with meat! highly recommended! 🤍

- but i got their spicy noodles & it was SUPER chewy, i had a hard time chewing & didn’t enjoy the meal! :< and i think all of their noodles are like super chewy as well 😔😔

- very small space as well hence might need to wait during lunch & dinner period! 😣

- price wise was about KRW60000+ for 5 pax! $$

go & add those that caught your eye into ur itinerary! ⭐️ hope you will get to enjoy these delicious food just like i did 😋😋
