Travel with me: Rome, Italy Pt. 1📍

During October, my husband and I went to Rome for the day and made the most of it. I think we walked like 10 miles? 😅

📒Notes:

Picture 1&2: We took a guided walking tour of the Colosseum. I was so excited for Logan to see the Colosseum because we already know he thinks about the Roman Empire. And the first thing he said was “It’s smaller than I thought it would be”. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Picture 3,4,&5: The Roman Forum was actually a lot cooler than I thought it would be. I didn’t really know anything about it, but we had skip the line tickets and were able to get straight in. They had a little solarium tucked away with a bunch of artifacts and displays, and it was such a surprise to find a modern exhibit among a bunch of ancient ruins.

Picture 6&7 The Piazza della Madonna di Lorento - Vittoriano: Tbh we just kind of walked around and happened to find this on our walk to the Vatican City. They had guards posted and an eternal flame lit, and it is seen as the national symbol of Italy. 🔥

Picture 8: I decided to live large and booked us a night at the Waldorf Astoria in Rome. I have literally never stayed in such a nice hotel before. It was so elegant and fancy and it made me feel poor just to be near it. It had original artwork from the 1400s, indoor pool, outdoor pool, Turkish bath, indoor hot tub, spa, and designer outlets. I spent my time in the Turkish bath and hot tub for what time we had there, and that was the nicest bed I have ever slept in. 😭
