Make a Loco Moco with me!

Our honeymoon was in Hawaii and by all means that is a BIG honeymoon destination. Despite that, we were actually exploring places to move to at the time so it was partly research for us. We tried to not pick a tourist destination heavy area and spent lots of times at the farmers market, local eateries, etc.

I LOVED it there. I have a dairy allergy and was able to freely eat lots of places without concern. This is NOT a luxury in the South where dairy is in every single meal.

One of the main things I wanted to try, but was worried about dairy was loco moco. We’ve been trying to expand our meals into other cultures so I started comparing recipes for loco moco and seeing who the authors were (I have trust issues with recipes).

Here is what I landed with. I LOVE IT and this will be my go to lunch from now on, BUT I don’t know how authentic it is or if it even taste right. So for all my Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders out there on Lemon8 - help a sister out and share your recipe with me!!
