Why isn’t my candle reaching a full melt pool?

🤨 Imagine you’ve just bought a new candle with beautiful scent and excitedly light it up. After 1hr, you notice only the center has melted. The next day, you light it again, but the wax still doesn’t reach the edges, and seems to form a tunnel instead…

😊 It’s called “tunneling”, simply due to the candle isn’t burned long enough for the wax to melt across the surfaces. And soy wax has “memory” that will only melt as far as it did during the first burn

❓How to prevent tunneling?

✨The answer is simple! Burn your candle for at least 2-3 hours on the first use, allowing the melt pool to reach the edges of the container

✨Always trim the wick to 1/4” before each lighting

✨Don’t forget to keep your candle away from drafts to prevent an uneven burn
