Choosing the Right Agency : My 2 Cents

If you have recently passed your RES exam, congrats to you! I know the exam isn’t easy!

Now the most pressing question on your mind is probably: “which agency should I join?”

So here’s some stats for you. There's a staggering number of agencies out there – over 1,100! But if you wanna simplify the math? The big 5 are where most of the action’s at, holding a solid 85% of the market.

So my first advice to you would be joining one of these big boys, they won’t guarantee you success but will guarantee you with the best toys you can play with: the research, apps, training, and a roadmap all set for newcomers. And the TOP 3 agencies will get the direct marketing for all new launches. That means latest info and more opportunities for you.

Now I have narrowed down your choices and the next one is completely up to you. Sure, the agency gives you the tools, the playbook, but you're the star striker. It's on you to score the goals.

Now, take your time to speak to different leaders or team you would like to be part of. You need to understand it is not the business you want to pursue in. This leader is famous in doing HDB sales, rental, private condo, new launch, GCB or commercial space. Yes they will be able to share insights and tricks in a specific field, the most important aspects you need to lookout for is the business model. Can you build a real estate business that’s evergreen?

For me, it’s always been about the 3 L’s.

1. Leads - where you capture your clients and how you keep them?

2. Listings - Quality listings are your goldmine.

3. Leverage - Time Vs Money, how do you spend your time to achieve your goals

Ultimately, it’s not just about joining the most talked about agency, or giving out freebies like an iPad to lure you in. Think about your long term game plan and whether you can learn and improve. Finding a right know-how mentor who really gets you and inspires you.

Alright that’s my 2 cents. Remember, it is your new journey and put some real thoughts to it . Figure out your vibe and you will surely find the right crew to roll with.
