KITCHEN EDITION: Key Aspects to Think About First✅

It has been 7 months since we attended our first ID event and since then, we have been meeting with IDs and planning our BTO renovation for next year 🏡 We have learned so much from others who have shared their experiences, and if there’s one thing we have learned, it’s that discussing key details with your ID early on is crucial to avoid a lot of back-and-forth later. That’s why we have put together this kitchen edition deck and hopefully, it helps those who are on the same journey! 🌟 Here are some key aspects we’re focusing on in this post (🚨 SWIPE & READ ON 🚨): Open Concept vs. Closed Concept, Storage & Organization, Workflow Considerations, Lighting, and Material Selection 📌

The process has been a learning experience, and we’re grateful for the time we have had to gather feedback and do research before next year’s renovation rush. For example, we initially wanted an open-concept kitchen, but after rethinking our lifestyle, we realized a closed kitchen would be better to reduce the amount of cleaning 🧼 This meant that some parts of our original renovation quotation became irrelevant. With smaller BTO kitchens and layout constraints, it was also hard to fit both an island and a dining table without making the space feel cramped if we wanted a close kitchen concept. After more thought, we scrapped the island idea altogether, which meant even more changes to our original plans 🤯

🛠 TLDR: Do your homework! Research, gather feedback, and prioritize key aspects from the get-go to communicate effectively with your ID. It’ll save you so much hassle later. Trust us, there will always be changes, but having the essentials sorted out first makes the whole process much smoother! 💯 Remember, not every tip is a must, focus on what truly fits your lifestyle. For example, a smart home setup might sound appealing, but it can lead to hefty costs for wiring and hardware, and it’s not a necessity for everyone. At the end of the day, it’s your home, and you like it can alreadyyy! 🤗
