As someone who used to have alopecia & has also gone through many many periods of extreme hair loss over the last 10 years, I wanted to share 4 things that can make such a huge difference if you’re going through something similar! There can be so many different reasons as to why someone may be experiencing hair loss or thinning, but one of the biggest factors is the strength of your adrenal glands (the home of our stress hormones) and making sure you support them as much as possible.

1. ELIMINATE / REDUCE ALL CAFFEINE: as a coffee lover, trust me when I say I know how hard this is! But caffeine is one of the most damaging substances for our adrenal glands. Try to cut it out completely or at least reduce to a very very small minimum (& never on an empty stomach)

2. NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION: I know this term is thrown around a lot, but it’s one of the most important things to regulate when dealing with hair loss. Making it a priority to meditate, be in nature, reduce high stress in your life, prioritize good energy/people, lots of rest/sleep, and doing things you love. Trust me it makes a difference!

3. CARBOHYDRATES: you probably hear a lot about protein intake when it comes to hair loss — and while it’s important, making sure you’re getting tons of whole food carbohydrates is probably even more important (they are straight fuel for our adrenals & nervous system). Think lots of fruit, root veggies (potatoes, carrots, squashes), legumes & some grains.

4. SUPPLEMENTS: supplements aren’t a cure all, but they can truly help to move the needle here! Some of my favorites for hair loss include zinc, ashwagandha, nettle leaf, MSM, vitamin C, & lemon balm.

know that this is a phase & trust that it won’t last forever - these types of symptoms are simply messages from the body letting us know it needs extra support 🫶🏻
