How Hurricane Helene changed our lives… ⛈️🌀

On Thursday night a tree fell & struck our house midnight, while my daughter was asleep in her bed 🛌 I’m so grateful that the tree & roof didn’t collapse onto her as she was sleeping 💤.

We were told by the city we’re not allowed entry into our home until the repairs are fixed.. they said they do not know how long it will take due to the roof needing a special engineer to fix it . 🚧

We were then moved into another complex that was Roach & spider infested & all the food the complex moved into that apartment was contaminated with bugs & also our beds .

The complex then moved our stuff into another apartment damaging half our furniture & throwing our stuff anywhere they pleased & piled up all in one room making it difficult to find our belongings. I asked for a hotel & was told “no” because they said they have open complexes that are open i could stay in . We were also told that the “movers” canceled on them due to a contract issue so the landlord & maintenance had to move all of our personal belongings.

I am not ungrateful as we still have a roof over our head i am just a single mother who is overwhelmed of all the changes , we have also lost our clothes during this time as it got damaged due to the debris falling onto our stuff .. there is fiber glass all over our clothes from the roofing & dry wall.
