Pros & Cons of my Current Job 👩🏻‍💻✨

Helloo my corporate gurlies! 👩🏻‍💻💅 Previously, I’ve shared on what I do for a living. To summarize, my role is to create a data-driven culture across TM via multiple initiatives!

But today, let’s get real. Every job has its ups and downs. Here are a few pros & cons of my current job:

Pros:

✅ Booming industry

There is no doubt that the telecommunication industry is constantly evolving. Being in a booming industry like this enables you to be highly adaptive!

✅ Lots to learn

In my role, I get to sit-in for C-level meetings and this gives me insights on how the decision makers of this company think & converse. Besides that, this industry is very new to me and therefore, there’s so much to learn!

✅ Networking opportunities available

There are many internal and external event opportunities available at my company and hence, this allows me to expand my network :)

✅ Great jobscope

The role I’m currently doing is more towards project management, which is something I’ve loved doing in my schooling days. It makes me excited to do the same in a corporate context!

✅ Amazing colleagues

I’m the youngest in the team (aka the baby of the team haha) so my colleagues are very kind, forgiving and loving towards me 🥰

Cons:

❌ Office location is too far

My office is far from home and it takes me around 1-1.5 hours to commute :(

❌ Lack of privacy in office

We don’t have cubicles and share desks instead, which can be a little uncomfortable sometimes!

❌ Delays in approvals

In such a big organization, there are many layers of approvals needed. Hence, something simple can take such a long time to get approved.

❌ Lack of passion in telco industry

To be honest, I’m not an IT/Engineering student and hence, I don’t really know much about the telecommunication industry and lack a passion. I do hope I will develop more interest in this field over time 🥹
