Wearing a colored hijab is tricky, because unlike other clothing items, it’s right there framing your face. Even the wrong neutral could make you look tired, ashy, or washed out.

Here’s How you can identify best shawl colour that match your skin tone either cool or warm.

STEP 1: IDENTIFY YOUR UNDETONE

1. Spend some time in the sun: does your cheek get all over rosy ? Then you’re most likely a neutral.

2. Vein on your wrist: If blue: cool, | green: warm, | purple: neutral.

3. As for me, some days my skin tone is warm and other days it seems neutral.

STEP 2: TRY ON

- Before you make any purchases, be sure that the colour code is correct and suit you well.

- To avoid any buying mistake, spend some time to go for physical store and try on your own because online photo may be differ than actual due to lighting, editing and etc.

Warm

- Best colours: almost every shade of orange (mustard yellow, gold)

- Neutral colour: taupe, chocolate, cream, latte, and warm beige.

- Acceptable: cool colours but in warmer shade (teal, olive green)

- Better Avoid: royal blue, neon, fuchsia pink, true grey (look tired).

Neutral

(medium shade that’s neither too cool nor too warm.)

- Best: Peach, dusty pinks, placid blue, soft lavender, pastel yellow, jade green

- Neutrals are off-white, grey, taupe, and blush pinks.

- Acceptable: pastel or a non-true color (think brick red instead of vibrant red).

- Avoid colour: anything shockingly bright

Cool

- Best: blue and green

- Neutral: white, grey, navy, and any neutral (that is greyed out).

- Acceptable: bubble pink and cherry red.

- Avoid: orange and yellow.
