DON’T (just) save your angpaos 🧧…

CNY is right around the corner and i’m SO EXCITED! it’s one of my favourite festive season bc there’s an abundance of steamboat (yums), mahjong & ofc, ANGPAOS 🍊🍊

as kids, i’m sure it’s routine to deposit our angpaos into our banks on the last day of CNY. BUT instead of leaving everything there, here’s how you can optimise your angpao and potentially stretch each dollar!

1️⃣ save a portion (~30%)

✮⋆˙ still set aside a small portion to save!

✮⋆˙ this can be added to your “emergency funds” / for any short term uses

2️⃣ invest in yourself (50%)

✮⋆˙ this is the concept of PAYING YOURSELF FIRST

✮⋆˙ this is NOT limited to just kickstarting an investment portfolio though it would be ideal to start accumulating $ to work towards investing in the market if you haven’t!

✮⋆˙ allow your SMALL CURRENT CASHFLOW to be able to generate BIG FUTURE CASHFLOW in future 😉 delayed gratification babyyyyy

3️⃣ wants (20%)

✮⋆˙ allow yourself to indulge in the materialistic things in life here and there! treat yourself!!!

(i’ve been eyeing the big puffer totes for awhile… no specific brand in mind though, can someone recco me…)

✮⋆˙ annnd, remember to shop sustainably while you’re at it 🫶🏻
