SOLO trip part 2~ Injecting Salmon DNA on my face!

1️⃣ CONCERT [ KSPO Dome ]

Attended my first ever kpop concert in Seoul, for 3 days straight! Ticketing was EXTREMELY tough, especially when it is split into 2 websites (Korea Interpark & Global Interpark) but that’s a story for next time! I really had so much fun 😭

From queueing 2 hours for merch, trading photocards right outside the merch booth, buying slogans from fansites, to queueing 30 mins for toilet 🥲 No regrets, 10/10 would do it again. (I regretted not buying more merch because they only brought 1/4 of the merch to Singapore’s concert……….)

2️⃣ FACIAL! A must-do when you go to Seoul~

📍Toxnfill Hongdae

✨ Saw this place on tiktok and booked an appt! Did PHA (₩79,000) & Lhala Fill (₩99,000) for acne concerns and everything was done in an hour. One thing is that staff greeted koreans who entered the shop but did not greet me… 😅 They looked done with their job too lol and I don’t really know if the treatment is making any difference 🤣

✨ Also saw this place on tiktok! Did Inmode FX (₩45,000 for first timers) for my double chin fats and injected Salmon DNA (3cc, ₩79,000) on my face. IT WAS SO PAINFUL I BURST OUT OF TEARS right after the last poke 😭😭😭😭😭😭

So far my face is left with bruises and needle marks, expected to go away in 3-7 days)! Excited to see what will my skin become after all these torture… Beauty is pain (literally)….. Staffs are generally more friendly and clinic is bigger~ Would recommend!

3️⃣ FOOD 🍱🍲🍜🍧

* Shabu Shabu Ock

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Found this gem nearby my airbnb while searching for solo dining spots! Typical shabu shabu but the sauces are so good!!!!! I have no idea what is the sauce (seems like soya sauce but it’s sweet). And it’s sooo affordable. ₩7,800 for main menu (including a bucket of vegetables + 100g of meat), and ₩4,700 to add on 100g of meat thereafter. I ate this thrice…. That was how good it was 😭😭😭😭 You know it’s good when they don’t have an english menu… 😅😅

* Grami

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dippin Dots icecream IYKYK. Not available in SG anymore so whenever I get the chance to eat it I will eat it. Personal opinion but its SOOOO GOOD. Sweet yummy dessert after the shabu shabu hehe. BUSSIN!!!!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tastes like typical ramen but the soy sauce soup base was quite tasteless……

* Ssada Gimbap

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Found this hidden gem while walking around Myeongdong! They don’t only serve gimbap as the name suggests, but they sell cold noodles, curry rice, and more! I ordered the Tonkatsu Curry Rice and it was not bad! Prices are really afforable too!!!

4️⃣ AIRBNB 🏠

Airbnb link is in part 1’s comment. Everything was good about the airbnb (location, nearby restaurants/food, the apartment itself), but one thing I realised is that most gosiwon do not have windows, and it might be quite stuffy.

Gosiwons are single rooms and do not have the typical wall mounted aircon that SG has = warm aircon and unadjustable temperature. Hence the stuffy-ness and hot-ness that I experienced together was insane (and couldn’t sleep well). Not complaining though cause it was cheap… But next time i’ll definitely book one with a window!!!!

5️⃣ 🚌 AIRPORT LIMOUSINE BUS 🚌

There are 2 ways to travel to and fro the airport! First way is the Airport Express Train (AREX), which is around $8 one way. The other is to the Airport Limousine Bus, about $16 one way. Double the price but it literally drops you RIGHT OUTSIDE your hotel/airbnb! ✨ BOTH SEATS ARE EQUALLY COMFORTABLE!!!!!! ✨

Pros ➕ & Cons➖:

AREX:

➕: Faster (43 mins ride), cheaper

➖: Need to drag your luggage around and walk alot (AREX platform and Subway platform is quite far away, around 10-15 mins walk. Need to carry up flights of stairs also. Not all subway station got lift/lift far away.

LIMOUSINE BUS:

➕: Slower (~1.5 hour ride depending on your stop), Drops you near your accomodation, keeps your luggage away for you, drops you directly at the departure hall too.

➖: Double the price

I think the double in price is DEFINITELY worth it if you have alot of luggages/going as a family/solo (because lugging a 30kg luggage around is no joke).

6️⃣ TRANSPORT 🚌🛤️🚞

I used the T-money card for 2 weeks instead of getting the climate card! Climate card is ₩20,000 for 7 days, but I spent ₩36,000 for 13 days (which is like the same without it?????) I did use the subway everyday (except during my trip to Japan) so if you can’t find the card you don’t have to force yourself to get it!! Transportation in Korea is generally cheap (or cheaper than Japan), and sometimes buses are faster than subways!

Also look at the buses, they have a little bus number flag sticking out when the doors open, and it’s so convenient when the buses are back to back! You don’t have to walk to the bus to look at the number at the back, but just look at the flag!!!! So convenient… SG should do this too 🤣

7️⃣ CULTURE SHOCK

And if you didn’t know, you must throw used toilet paper in the bin instead of flushing it! They take recycling VERY seriously also, and you’d have to sort out according [Vinyl (plastic), Paper, Cans, Plastic, Trash]. That’s all for my 13 day solo trip!
