🚘 To make the most out of a road trip along the PNW renting a car is a MUST. Most stops and lookouts are free to parking.

🅿️ Other stops require a State park pass for the day which is typically $5 and give you permit for the day in different parking lots.

There isn’t a dedicated trail, but walking along the beach offers the most epic views of Haystack Rock and tidepools.

From Seattle : Around 3.5 hours by car.

The beach is free to visit, but parking around may require a fee.

You can access the beach 24/7, year-round.

🌊 BEACH CONDITIONS:

Sandy, wide, and well kept. Great for walking, picnicking, and exploring the tidepools near Haystack Rock.

🌡️ AVERAGE TEMPERATURE:

Summer highs range between 60°F and 70°F. In winter, it can drop to 40°F.

☔ AVERAGE WEATHER:

Rainy most of the year, especially from November to May. July and August are the driest and sunniest months.

🏕️ BONFIRES AND CAMPING:

Bonfires are allowed on the beach, but camping is not permitted. Check for local restrictions before lighting a fire.

🏨 IS IT EXPENSIVE TO STAY?:

Yes, hotels and lodges are generally more expensive, particularly oceanfront options, especially in peak season.

Drive south on S Hemlock St , pass the intersection with Forest Lawn Rd and you’ll see a set of wood stairs down CANNON BEACH ALLEY. It leads straight to that perfect view of Haystack Rock for those perfect pictures.
