hellu guys visited potato head for the second time yesterday and here’s an honest review about it! hope this helps yall plan your next outing with friends (or a date!) 💕

1. interior and overall vibes

potato head is a four storey shophouse unit with different interior designs at every level which i thought was super cool! the inside was decorated with art and rustic looking furniture and paintings that was giving very vintage artsy vibes. refer to above pics for the designs for respective levels! chairs were comfy but the lighting was pretty dim so do take note of that. items are also quite pricey! the staff there were really nice though they host you with a cheerful attitude and take the initiative to to go the extra mile (refill your water, allow you to choose your preferred seat etc). however, most of the patrons there are all angmohs LOLOL and i kinda got inferior feels and like they treat angmohs better but maybe its just me…

2. what we ate

- pokemon (6/10, $18)

was super excited for this but sadly it wasn’t up to expectations :( i was expecting the typical sashimi bowl when we ordered this but was surprised at what was served :0 portion was also quite tiny ;^; it wasn’t bad though just not really suited to my taste and i have to say that the individually, the ingredients were nice but not put together LOL. it’s probably because the rice wasn’t really rice cuz it was quinoa and kinda tasted like water 😭 sorry too healthy for me LMAO. on the bright side, the sashimi was super fresh and the tomatoes were sooo good. i just feel like the rice and the ingredients don’t really go well together. would have been a 9/10 if the quinoa was replaced with traditional japanese rice for sure. nevertheless, i must say that it was a really unique and creative dish and nothing like i’ve ever seen before!

- pop that berry (6/10, $12)

i think the title of this drink was inspired by the phrase pop that cherry which i thought was super funny HAHAHA. for me, it tasted like ketchup/tomato sauce 😭 and i would definitely never order it again. instead, i recommend the lemon and lime kool-ade ($12) cuz its super good for the same price. it’s non alcoholic and a definite 9/10!

- portobello (10/10, $9)

THIS WAS SO GOOD OMG we even ordered another plate. omg thinking about it makes me wanna eat it again TT. not only does it taste so yummy, it’s one of the more affordable things on the menu! slices are pretty small though so don’t count on this to fill your tummies! there’s a generous serving of ingredients though (mushrooms and stuff) and the best part about this is the blob of brown sauce on top which definitely makes or breaks the dish 🤤

- peach vodka (8/10, $12)

we also got a glass of this peach vodka thingy that i forgot to take a picture of!! tasted pretty good like peach alcohol and the alcohol taste wasn’t overpowering either! great for light drinkers or those who just wanna get a taste without getting drunk HAHAHA. kinda looked like water though which was one of the downsides to this drink :(

overall, i would definitely say that potato head is a great place to visit! the rooftop bar is really pretty for pictures in the evening > night and the food there is amazing as long as you know what to order so be sure to ask around for what’s good! i wouldn’t recommend wasting your money on the pokemon but definitely DEFINITELY try the portobello!!! have fun! ❤️✨
