Knowing your skin type is so important for your skin’s health! A couple years ago I discovered I did not have oily skin and that was what was causing me to break out but rather I had dry skin that was producing more oil to try to make up for the lack of moisture. I also discovered that the ingredients I was using such as activated charcoal or retinol were too strong for my skin and often caused irritation me made me dry out more. Since I’ve learned this about myself I adjusted my skincare routine accordingly to focus on hydration.
The products above I have been using for a couple of months now and my skin has responded to them really well! I don’t get nearly as much acne even a few months ago since I started using these products.
Around May I went in a hunt for more affordable skincare. My entire routine before this was from Lush and since I was an employee I got all my products for 50% off. Once I left the skincare I was using wasn’t as affordable anymore but one of the products on my list still remains in my skincare routine because it’s such a good product I think it’s worth the higher price tag.
Cleanser 🧼 I double wash my face every day twice a day.
🧼 Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle facial scrubs
a. It smells amazing
b. It’s a very gentle scrub as described and exfoliates my skin without irritation and leaves it feeling soft
c. At $8.99 it’s very affordable
🧼 Walgreens or Kroger off brand Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser
a. Unscented if you prefer that for your cleansers
b. Much more affordable than cerave that costs about $18.99 for this size. The one I’m using from Kroger cost me $5.99 on sale but it’s usually around $11
c. Still has all the great benefits of Cerave cleanser as they share ingredients, just a more affordable price tag.
🧼 Lush Cosmetic Warrior face and body mask
a. More expensive at $18 a pot
b. Made with garlic and honey so it’s moisturizing while being antibacterial and an excellent skin cleanser.
c. Used to this only when my skin was misbehaving and now I use it all the time. (Twice a week on average)
🧼Toner water
I use Dickinson’s unscented and alcohol free witch hazel toner water.
a. This toner is gentle and doesn’t make my skin burn
b. At $5.99 for a 16 oz bottle it’s a steal!
c. Genuinely makes my skin feel clean and is a gentle ingredient as opposed to charcoal, retinol, or salicylic acid
🧼 E. L. F Holy Hydration Daily Moisturizer
a. Very affordable at $8 a bottle
b. Unscented if that matters
c. Contains vitamin E and hylauronic acid. Both are great for the skin as vitamin E helps heal the skin and reduce the appearance of acne spots and other irritations ¥ hylauronic acid is an amazing moisturizer for people with dry sensitive skin
