Money saving tips on trips!!💸✈️

There are countless things you will learn throughout your traveling journey and how to go about using your money abroad is definitely one of them. I’m going to help you out and share with you some of the most important lessons with money that I’ve learned along the way so you don’t have to!

1. GET THE WISE APP!

The wise app is a musttt app that I wish I knew about way sooner! It is tailor made for international travelers because it allows you to spend and withdraw cash in over 160 countries, there are zero foreign transaction fees, and no exchange rates. It also has a currency exchange page so you can see the rate between different currencies and you can freeze or unfreez your card whenever you need to!

2. USE CREDIT NOT DEBIT

Along with the Wise App, you should be spending money with a credit card and not a debit card. I honestly regret primarily using my debit card the first year or two of traveling because I lost out on so many credit points and rewards. I probably could have bought a whole flight to Asia with credit card points if I was using it as my primary spending card.

3. PULL OUT CASH AT AIRPORTS NOT ATM’s

If you are entering a country that you know you will be needing cash for, always pull out the cash at the airport! This will prevent you from paying crazy exchange rates and fees and provide some comfort knowing that when you leave the airport you have the money you need to get around or pay for the things you need. (For this make sure you bring about $200-300 dollars of your home currency). Most currency exchanges only exchange physical money not cards.
