Secrets of Goodwill: Christmas Decor

My favorite types of Christmas decor to look for:

1. Wreaths. I have found several wreaths unused and still in the box. I love the pinecone wreaths for a timeless look.

2. Candles. There are really two categories here- scented candles and candles that are shaped. I have seen pinecone candles, angel candles, Christmas tree shaped candles, so keep your eyes out. Don't be afraid to wash them off if they have gotten a little dusty. If your thrift store has a taper section, keep your eyes peeled for red, green, silver, or white tapers.

3. Christmas towels, tablecloths, pot holders, and placemats. The "linens" section is one that people often forget about but there is always holiday decor there. AND this is one section where I see the most unused, still-has-the-tag, items.

4. Pillows and blankets. There are tons of vintage-style Christmas pillows an blankets to be had. Used pillows can be thrown in the wash. Check the tag, but many can even go in the dryer as well.
