Things to do in Bangkok as a solo female traveller

Having travelled to a few countries on my own, I highly recommend Bangkok as it’s relatively close to SG, bustling with tourists and easy to travel (with Grab, comprehensive google maps, simple English can be communicated in tourist hotspots). Here are some things I did on my own during my #femalesolotravel and places I recommend!

📍 Siam@Siam was a hotel I booked last-min due to some AirBnB dissatisfaction 🤪 for SGD80 a night I absolutely have zero complaints because it was an amazing experience! Clean & accessible + it just feels safer being on your own with security, 24-hour reception, etc.

✨ Tip: Use Google Maps to see if these cafes are nearby anywhere on your travel itinerary/ checklist and slot them in for brunch or tea break! While they are super aesthetic and vibey they don’t serve mains, so I don’t recommend planning for solid meals here

🛍️ Shopping places I recommend:

1. Siam Square - 4.5/5 . It reminded me so much of Seoul and you can spend an entire day here! You won’t get stuff as cheap as the markets but quality > quantity here 💓

2. Jodd Fairs (both the old and new) - 4/5 . Night markets are a must in Bangkok and I liked both of them as each market has its own charm! Super cute and cheap stuff here though I personally prefer getting quality pieces and ended up getting some expensive organic cotton clothes in the end 😂

3. Platinum Shopping Mall - 3.5/5 . Stuff here are also to the cheaper side so more time is needed to really find stuff that I feel I’ll wear often. Still found cute stuff nonetheless, just don’t like the crowds and jam 😅

💄 I barely brought any cosmetics, not even makeup remover LOL because I was pretty sure I’ll be getting them all at their makeup outlets and they didn’t disappoint ☺️

All in all I had a blast in Bangkok and I highly recommend it as a holiday destination, be it with someone or by yourself. Have a great trip to anyone who’s going and feel free to ask me any questions about the land of smiles 😍
