NYC Hidden Gems 💎: The Met Cloisters

The Met Cloisters is a very special place. Up the A train to the top of Manhattan is Fort Tryon Park, and up at the top of this park is an old monastery/medieval art museum.

My favorite thing about visiting the Cloisters is the views of the Hudson River Valley and the forest across the river. This far uptown there isn’t anything across the river. It’s just nature and quiet. The air seems fresher and calmer up here. It’s like you are transported out of a big city and in an old church in Europe.

Also just the vibes inside and in the courtyard. The stained glass windows add a serene glow to everything and the bells tower looms over the courtyard casting a shadow.

It’s a really great place to get out of the hustle and bustle! Highly recommended!
