5 Day Ring Road Travel Itinerary
Day 1 : South Iceland
I flew into Reykjavik then took a shuttle to pick up my camper van from Happy Campers.
Stop 1: Rest and Relax
Sky Lagoon is only about 45 minutes outside Reykjavik and is an amazing stop to start your trip. It’s highly highly worth it even the 7 step ritual.
Stop 2: Geothermal Geysers (Part of Golden Circle)
Geyser is a huge geyser but considered dormant so it does not erupt often. However it is right next to Skrokkur which erupts often and is a very cool experience.
Stop 3: Chase Waterfalls
Seljalandafoss is a massive waterfall that is right off ring road. I do recommend grabbing your rain gear because the mist that blows off the falls. You can walk behind this waterfall and it feels like you’re in a movie.
Stop 4: Canyon Waterfall
Gljufrabui is a quick hike from Seljalandsfoss. This waterfall is tucked behind rock walls in a canyon. You can make the hike through the canyon to get closer or just appreciate the view from the comfort of the trail end.
Campsite: Vík
This campsite is very nice and clean. The showers are not included in the fee but they do have a small kitchen and water. There is also laundry availability for a fee. Overall this was a nice campground!
