Welcome to debunking fitness myths with me pt.1

These are two HUGE fitness myths that are important for people to know, especially beginners starting off at the gym.

1) "You can target weight/fat loss" this is one of the biggest misconceptions of all time.

Many people believe that you can target fat loss by working out that specific part of the body (For ex; doing crunches to lose belly fat), but that is wrong and unfortunately a very popular myth. Your body burns fat based on overall fitness not spot reducing.

2) "Lifting heavy weights will make you bulky" This is another huge myth which often discourages women from lifting weights because they're scared of becoming bulky.

In reality though, building significant muscle mass requires a specific training and dietary approach. This means you shouldn't be concerned about lifting weights. If you follow the proper workout and diet, you will not become bulky. I repeat you will not get bulky.
