My 3 Step Cleansing Routine To Maintain Clear Skin

If you’ve been reading my posts, you’d know that I was on acne meds to clear my skin. BUT, I’ve stopped using it for awhile now (I started reducing my intake in May) and I’ve still maintained having no significant breakouts ✨💯

One of the important pieces of advice given to me by my doc is: Clean 👏🏻 Your 👏🏻Face. In fact, he believes in washing your face several times a day (especially when it gets oily).

BUT, let’s be real – I wear makeup, I’m out most of the time and I’m pretty lazy to wash up so frequently. Nevertheless, I take my cleansing routine VERY seriously. I can be lazy, but lazy in the right way *big brain energy* 🫣

☁️ This is my 3 step cleansing routine:

☁️ Step 1: Bioderma Eye Makeup Remover

Back in 2017-2020, I was a fan of cleansing balms. But honestly, they are messy to use and probably not the most hygienic. Enter Bioderma’s Eye Makeup Remover.

I have been using this since it was launched and I really love it. It works well in removing waterproof makeup (cough, my Heroine Make mascara) and I love using this as the first step as it “melts” most of the makeup ✨

☁️ Step 2: Bioderma Micellar Water

I’ve repurchased this SO MANY TIMES (I’ve been using this since 2021). It is gentle and effective in removing remnant makeup from the previous step. Typically, I’ll use one to two cotton pads till I make sure that there is no leftover makeup on my face.

☁️ Step 3: Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cleansing Foam

Acne meds will dry out the skin, so I opted for hydrating cleansers 💦 I’ve been using this Laneige cleanser since the start of the year and it’s also another repurchase-worthy product 💯

Likewise, this cleanser is gentle on the skin and doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped.

☁️ No Makeup Days

On days that I don’t wear makeup, I skip the bioderma eye makeup remover since I don’t have to remove stubborn makeup.

Overall: You don’t have to get the exact same products, esp if you know your products are good for your skin! There are gentle options if you’re looking for a change. Also, don’t forget to wash your face properly 💯
