My 3 year old loved helping me with this and it's so easy and yummy! 🍕🍅
Ingredients
1. 2-2 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
2. 1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ teaspoon)
3. 1 ½ teaspoons sugar
4. ¾ teaspoon salt I usually add a pinch more.
5. ⅛-¼ teaspoon garlic powder and/or dried basil leaves optional
6. 2 Tablespoons olive oil + additional to oil the bowl
7. ¾ cup warm water (175ml)
Directions
• Add 1 cup of flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt, garlic powder and/or dried basil in a large bowl.
• Add olive oil and warm water and use a wooden spoon to stir.
• Gradually add another 1 cup of flour. Add any additional flour as needed (you may need an additional ⅓ cup), stirring until the dough is forming into a elastic ball and is beginning to pull away from the sides of the bowl. The dough will still be slightly sticky but still should be manageable with your hands.
• Drizzle a separate, large bowl with olive oil including the sides of the bowl. Form the dough into a ball and place into the bowl and cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap is fine too.
• Let rise in a warm area for 30 minutes. At this point I turn my oven on to preheat to 425° and place the bowl of dough on the stove top as my oven preheats.
•Once the dough has risen, use your hands to gently deflate it and transfer to a lightly floured surface and use either your hands or a rolling pin to work the dough into 12" circle.
•Transfer dough to a parchment paper lined pizza pan and either pinch the edges or fold them over to form a crust.
• Use a pastry brush to brush on some olive oil to the dough and then use a fork to poke holes in the crust to prevent bubbling. If you don't have a pastry brush you can use your hands (obviously clean) to rub the oil on.
• Add your toppings and then place in the oven for 15 minutes.
