I am a huggggeee Ghost Adventures fan so anywhere I travel, I check to see if there’s any haunted locations they’ve visited. However, any haunted location will draw me in! Here are some of the locations I’ve visited or seen (since some are private property, I only got to drive past)

-The San Haven Sanitorium opened in 1912 as a Hospital for patients suffering from Tuberculosis. After 1957, the hospital accepted mental health patients as well as the elderly. Roughly 50% of all TB patients, during the outbreak, would pass away, inferring lots of deaths in this location. This building, now abandoned, has attracted many visitors, consequentially killing a teenage boy after he fell down the empty elevator shaft. Visitors that have visited this location have reported sudden nausea, figures in the corner of their eyes and disembodied voices. Perhaps the scariest sightings are the apparitions that are seen wandering in the underground tunnels that quickly fade into thin air. This place is definitely creepy and I can definitely post my series of photos from my visit if anyone is interested:) This one is a GA location as well!

-The Stanley Hotel, featured on GA, is best known for being the inspiration behind Stephan King’s “The Shining”. Aside from the lore of the hotel, as tied to the famous novel and film, there are stories of spirits that roam the grounds and interact with guests. There have been reports of shadow figures, flickering lights, poltergeist activity and disembodied laughter despite the fact that this hotel does not have a bloody history. However, gas leak explosion did severely injure a maid in the 1920s, though she lived to see 90. Shortly after her death, reports of unmarried couples feeling invisible forces between them and single men finding their bags suddenly packed began to occur, with many speculating this was Ms. Elizabeth Wilson. It’s widely believed that the spirits who haunt this building are people who have a deep love for The Stanley and choose to spend their afterlife where they feel the most at peace.

-The First Territorial Prison, aka “The Black Prison” as named after the wrought iron bars, featured on GA, has a very intriguing history. It’s said that James Phillips, a prisoner with a death sentence, watched as his own gallows were built across the street from his cell and died from a heart attack. He is said to walk the halls of the prison and sobbing noises are said to come from his former jail cell.

- The El Camaroncito Nightclub, though it isn’t considered haunted per se, has a legendary story to tell… This is the location that, in 1975, the devil went dancing. Legend has it, that on Halloween night, a handsome man walked into the night club and turned every woman’s head. He was an excellent dancer and took turns dancing with women until one happened to look down towards his feet, discovering goat hooves, or chicken feet in some reports. He rushed to the men’s restroom, ultimately disappearing into thin air, and leaving behind a sulfur smell. The smell of sulfur is said to linger to this day.

-The Branson, MO Titanic Museum, featured on GA, contains artifacts and information all pertaining to the ill fated voyage. Employees believe some spirits that perished with the boat have attached themselves to recovered items and have made themselves at home in the museum. Guests have reported disembodied voices, shadow figures, and even child sized handprints appearing on clean glass surfaces after close.

-The Stone Lion Inn, featured on GA, has a pretty unique background that may contribute to its intense hauntings. Over 100 years old, this building was once home to a mortuary, which may explain some of the presence’s. One of such is Elmer McCurdy, a train robber who, after a heist gone wrong, found himself under mortuary care. After no relatives claimed him, his body was preserved and propped up on display. People began to pay money to see the mummified man, leading to his body passing from side shows and haunted houses for entertainment. He was eventually returned to Guthrie and laid to rest, but some believed he may still haunt the former parlor. Guests have reported cold spots, slamming doors, music, and even feeling like someone is touching them. It now serves as a bed and breakfast that offers murder mystery games.

-The Zozo Demon House, featured on GA, is a home that the owners claimed was plagued by a demonic force. The Zozo demon is known as a demon of “destruction, and said to possess and attack people through ouija board communications. It’s believed that a previous owner opened a portal through a spirit board and Zozo now possess the house, hurting anyone who dares to enter.

-The Hotel Jerome is one of the oldest buildings in Aspen, Colorado, dating back to 1889. The hotel is supposedly home to multiple spirits, one such is the water boy. The water boy is said to have drown in the hotel’s pool and now pays visits to guests around the hotel. A young shivering boy in a towel has been reported, only to find out there were no children on that floor. It’s said you can even see his wet footprints. A portrait of him hangs in the hotel. Henry is another ghost who is seen in the Jerome, having reportedly stayed there after his love moved to Boston. This heartbroken man is said to be responsible for sobbing noises coming from the halls. A third ghost, a former maid by the name of Katie, died after contracting hypothermia when mean coworkers falsely told her that her kitten fell into a wintery pond. She dove in and developed hypothermia as a result. It’s said she now haunts the Hotel Jerome, messing with housekeeping staff, specifically on the third floor.

-Weeping Hollering Creek is often regarded as being connected to La Llorona. Though there are many different variations of the story, the consistent one is this: a woman drowns her children and upon realizing what she’s done, she spends eternity crying and looking for them. Woman Hollering Creek is said to be one of the locations where this has occurred, with paranormal events seen till this day. It’s been reported that you can hear a sobbing woman, wandering the creek, destined to an eternity of missing her children.

So what do you think? Have you visited any of the places or had experiences yourself? I’d love to hear your thoughts below! 👻
