Hiking with dogs ✨

Dogs are the absolute best companion for hiking. They love being able to get outside and exercise with you, but they also help keep you safe. Here are my favorite tips for hiking with dogs:

🥾 Bring collapsible water bowls, lots of water bottles, treats, tweezers, and a comb. A comb might sound silly, but it’s one of the best ways of getting cactus (looking at you jumping cholla) out of dogs paws.

🥾 Take frequent breaks for water and paw checks because dogs aren’t able to communicate as well when there’s something wrong.

🥾 Let your dog sniff and embrace all the new smells. It’s so beneficial for their mind and they love it.

🥾 Look on AllTrails app for hiking trails that are the most dog friendly. It’s always good to check if the trails are steep, filled with jagged rocks, or require any lifting of your dogs.

🥾 Most importantly, have fun because your dogs aren’t going to be around forever 🥺
