Do you feel like you are in a deficit but you aren't losing weight? It may be time to think about the actions and consistent habits you have created. There are many reasons one can be stuck in a space of thinking they are in a deficit but not having success with losing weight.

Here are a few reasons you may be having trouble with your weight loss journey 👇🏼

1) Your calorie deficit is imbalanced: you may be in a deficit a few days of the week while the other days you aren't.

2) You have reached a weight loss plateau: you may have been in a weight los journey for too long. Look into working your way to maintenance for a few weeks in order to be successful with your weight loss again.

3) Retention of water: so many factors play into weight loss, you may be retaining water which can be a key reason you aren't seeing the scale go down.

4) Poor sleeping habits: are you getting an adequate amount of sleep? this plays a huge factor.

5) Menstrual cycle: ladies!! our bodies go through so much, give yourself grace in knowing your body will fluctuate.

6) You’re working out too much: believe it or not, you may not be getting enough rest, give yourself a break!

7) It takes time: you have an unrealistic time line for when you want to weight a certain amount, give yourself time!

8) Increased stress levels: stress will play a huge role in hanging on to unwanted weight! Breathe!

9) You weigh yourself at different times each day: you are going to weigh a different amount in the morning on a empty stomach then you will at night after a full day of eating!

Give yourself grace!! Weight loss, weight gain, muscle gain.. it all takes TIME. There is not a perfect time line for any individual. Find enjoyment in it and give yourself time to change!
