I got into running off and on about a year ago, and just recently got into running consistently. Here are some tips I wish I knew first starting out!!
**I didn’t explain everything fully so I suggest looking some up for more detailed information**
Running Tips
👟 Tip 1: Runners Loop
How It Helps Me: When your heel isn't held firmly, your foot can slip forward and bump your toes against the front of your shoes. Basically the runners loop is a new way to tie your shoes. I recommend watching tutorial!!
🔁 Tip 2: Creating a Habit Loop
How It Helps Me: You can create a habit loop by using the cue, routine, reward method. If you go through this cycle over and over it basically creates a habit.
Cue- a time or place
Routine- the behavior or activity
Reward- the benefits ex. spiked endorphins, money or attention, or treating yourself with things like running gear or cute workout sets.
🐢 Tip 3: GO SLOW
How It Helps Me: Not all of your runs should be sprinting!!! As an athlete I used to think that running had to be going 110% all the time, but unless you are doing a spilt that requires times of sprinting take it SLOW AND AT YOUR OWN PACE!!!!
🧘♀️ Tip 4: Reshape your Perspective
How It Helps Me: If you go into a run thinking of it as a punishment, you won’t like running. Think of it as a way to get something off your chest, or a new habit that will boost your self confidence and love.
I know that running isn’t for everyone and that is ok!! Although if you are looking to become a more experienced runner, I hope this helped you move towards your goal. Feel free to comment questions!!!!P.S. All credits given to photo owners🫶💗
