I hit 100 followers! Ahh!! 💖😛

Ahhh I hit 100 followers! Thank you so much for engaging with my little posts and staying connected. My first milestone on Lemon8 was hitting 3 followers and I didn’t know what I was doing then and still don’t know what I’m doing now lol. Again all I know is I like creating content, building a community, and engaging with people! I like it so much that I do it on other platforms like Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube! 🥳😎💖

✨Here’s what I learned since posting consistently on Lemon8 for 2 weeks:

- Building a community feels so much HEALTHIER and FUN because there doesn’t seem to be a constant pressure to post the best content and adopt all these different methods of reaching a wide audience. I just post what I like and if others like it, we connect and keep it pushing! I see why people compare it to Pinterest because there’s no longer that lingering social media effect. 🥺🫶🏾

- Just like any other platform, posting consistently will make you grow (either in engagement or followers). I’ve posted every single day since I started using this app and it’s been like 2 weeks now. I also didn’t want to pressure myself into sticking to one niche, I just wanted to post and keep it pushing! Posting consistently helped me to continuously reach new people and I’m grateful! 😌💗

- REMEMBER your community will come in due time. Instead of begging for followers and engagement, focus on being yourself and posting content that you also enjoy. Disclaimer ~ I stopped focusing on Instagram because I realized it was making me post content that no longer made me happy. I was posting for the sake of going viral and using trending sounds, etc. It was tedious, discouraging, and very time consuming. I also didn’t even see much growth but felt like I was working 5x harder than my other platforms lol. I still post on instagram but I expect nothing from it. I prefer Lemon8, TikTok, and YouTube.

- Last but not least, embrace some form of vulnerability! If you want to grow a community, you can’t just post surface level content and expect people to engage and STAY connected. Take people on the journey you’re on. For example, I’m on the journey of finding my big girl apartment and I started a mini grownish series on here. I will also start a more in depth grownish series on my YouTube channel. I want to share this series with others because I know it may help others AND I love getting advice for those who have been down the adulting/first apartment journey! 🤸🏾‍♀️💙
