IS IT WORTH THE HYPE?

Lately, I’ve seen a lot of reviews for this sichuan restaurant on lemon8 but is it worth the hype?

We had the double delight of grilled fish with tomato soup base and crayfish with mala soup base. I really love the grilled fish as it was really flavourful and savoury, the fish didn’t really have a lot of bones which is good for someone who really hates eating fish with bones. My bf’s favourite dish was the crayfish, it was not just huge in size but very fresh which makes it very easy to peel, by dipping it into the hot and spicy soup was just “chef kiss”.

I love how they have option for the soup base like garlic, mala and tomato, allowing those who can’t take spice to also enjoy it at its best. They also provide tissues, gloves and also a bowl to throw your shells.

Sambal Kangkong 🥗

I really love sambal kangkong and this sambal kangkong just hit the right spot, it wasn’t too spicy and salty. Complements the mala crayfish very well.

Signature Fruit Tea 🍹

This drink appeared in most of the reviews for this restaurant and mostly was saying that it was huge. How huge can it be? When they served it, I was in shock at how huge the cup was. I could only hold it up with both my hands and there were so many ingredients in it making it not just a drink but a dessert as well.

If you do visit I’ll totally recommend ordering this, it is so refreshing which helps cleanses you palate after all the mala.

So is it worth the hype?

Totally! I feel that everyone should give this restaurant a try as it is really affordable and the food taste really amazing. They do have a very wide selection of food items on the menu, so that there’s something for everyone. If you choose the outdoor seating, you also get to enjoy the view of our Singapore River.
