My 2cents on what helped me through the breakup period

1. Embrace your emotions

Cry, vent, get angry, work late, stay in bed. Do anything you feel like doing during that time and embrace all the emotions you feel and release it.

2. Spend time with family and friends

I spent a lot of my weekends with my parents, aunties, uncles, cousins, grandparents just catching up and talking about the situation I was going through.

3. Learn something new

It doesn't have to be something that will last. I took one pottery class, one baking class, 3 gym sessions & learned to ride a bicycle. Never continued most of them but it helped me fill my time during that down period.

4. Stalk him (min amount)

I still feel the need to know what he has been up to after the breakup and I occasionally will stalk him on social media (few times a week) but I always tell myself to control the urge and in time, I no longer feel the need to do it (and I no longer do).

5. Travel

Be it a short vacation or a long stay. Changing your environment can help bring in new thoughts and perspective. I traveled a lot during that period, overseas and locally.

6. Pamper yourself

Get your nails done, hair done, hair removal done & etc. Anything that will make you feel pretty. Feeling beautiful and confident is a good way to move on and open up urself to new possibilities and people.
