Things I DONT buy as a minimalist mom.

I became a minimalist a few years ago for two reasons, because I wanted to cut back on spending, and because k no longer wanted to be overwhelmed with STUFF. Over the years, there are certain things I’ve completely cut out of our lives that I no longer buy anymore.

1: lots of clothes

All my kids have just a few outfits, and not much extra. Wesley has a handful of newborn outfits and that’s it, it’s less overwhelming and reminds us to keep up on laundry.

2: plastic straws

We use glass or silicone straws only in this house. We get lots of fun colors and use them often!

3: prepackaged snacks

Mostly just because of the price! But it’s much easier to keep the kids away from unnecessary food, dyes and corn syrup when I make our own snacks from scratch!

4: electronics/iPads

We are pretty screen free home and iPads are some thing my husband and I agreed we would never buy for our kids because we don’t want to be tempted!

5: play-doh

We make our own

6: jewelry

I stop buying jewelry because of the stage of life that I am in with babies and toddlers who constantly want to grab it and rip it off of your face !
