💍 finding my wedding venue 💒

We found our wedding venue! Tbh we put down our downpayment about a month ago so it’s not super exciting for us anymore. We did go to several wedding shows to look at their packages and offers last year but since our wedding date is in 2024, many of the hotels did not have the price and date for us to soft book yet.

Things we looked out for:

1. Private entrance

2. Straight walkway to stage

3. High ceiling

4. Wheelchair access

Hotels we considered:

1. St Regis

2. Fullerton

3. Pan Pacific Marina Bay

4. Skai Suites (Swissotel)

5. Ritz Carlton

Number of pax: We were considering about 150-200 but the ballrooms we saw were for 140 and below, specifically St Regis Caroline Mansion and Fullerton Straits Room.

We went for St Regis Wedding Fair and we fell in love with Caroline Mansion. I loved how there was a private entrance and everything was just so exclusive to your wedding. I also love the wedding assistant that will be following you through the day and the huge ass bridal room that is provided to you for the wedding. The wedding coordinator did mention that CM sells itself and hence not much perks is provided. It’s also quite pricey. :’) We also took a look at the ballroom but D said it’s to fancy and the min is 380 pax (iirc) so it was out of the question for us. I love the John Jacob ballroom though; it’s one of the grandest and most beautiful ballroom I have ever seen.

We fell in love with St Regis Caroline Mansion but after looking through our guest list, we realised that the room could not fit them. That was honestly our first choice!

We also went to Fullerton to take a look at their Straits room but we fell in love with their ballroom instead. Fullerton’s Straits Room was our second choice (for 150 pax) but the walkway will be shifted to the side if we were to fit in 14 tables. However, 12 tables will allow the room to have a nice and straight walkway! Something to consider! After Fullerton’s viewing, we went home to check if we could up our number of pax.

After deciding on our date and number of pax (changed to 200-250) we went to different wedding fairs and shortlisted Hotel Jen and Skai suites. We soon decide to cut them off due to the low ceiling but I have to admit that Skai Suites do have an amazing view. 🤩

Arranged a viewing for Ritz but the WC mentioned that they are undergoing some reno and will get back to be in feb, there was so no news so we decided to not go with them.

My WC from Fullerton emailed us and told us that a wedding fair was coming up (in March) and we decided to go for it. There were food tasting and the door gift was his and hers dior perfume, candy and a Fullerton Coin Bank. Since we have already seen the place, we decided to bite the bullet if the additional perks was worth it - we were honestly too lazy to explore further. (we also visited others that we did not shortlist).

Perks from the wedding fair include another additional perk - eg. 10 wine bottles/barrel/additional night stay. (from 2 to 3!) 15 bottles waived for corkage fee and free 60% printing of inv + 10% more carpark coupons. (+ $5 off each person)

tbh the additional perk was already worth it ~ We wanted to sign immediately but since our date was not included for the perks (6 days later?) the WC had to ask her manager! lucky for us, they agreed to all perks except the $5 off each pax. (about $250 x 5 = $1.250 is not a small sum) but since we already decided on Fullerton, we signed and paid our deposit that day!

so that concludes our venue hunt - other that that we have done NOTHING and i’m starting to feel a little anxious yet tbh i really am to tired and stress to think about it. hahaha help.
