I think lots of people try to overcomplicate living a healthy lifestyle or losing weight. It is actually quite simple. Weight loss= being in a calorie deficit. There is no way to lose weight without being in a calorie deficit because your body needs to be burning more calories than it’s consuming.

If you are looking to lean out for summer, here are some tips to help you stay in a calorie deficit (if your goal is not to lose weight, there is no need to be in a calorie deficit!!!!!)

1. Getting 10k steps a day. This has been a GAME CHANGER in keeping me toned and shedding a few pounds. If you are moving your body more frequently, you will be burning more calories.

2. Eating clean and healthy. This one is a no brainer. Healthy foods tend to have less calories and are healthier for your body to digest and convert into energy.

3. Weight training. weight training not only burns calories but it also builds muscle which contributes to the “lean” appearance of muscle tone.

4. Getting enough sleep. Your body NEEDS sleep in order to repair and recover from your workouts during the day. If you are not getting enough sleep your cortisol levels will increase and that makes it more difficult to shed those extra pounds!
