How I annotate my books

I started annotating books in 2023 and so far I’ve found it very fun and helpful! Here’s my personal process…

❤️ Pick a color scheme of annotation tabs that match the book’s aesthetics

🧡 Sometimes I make a “key” in the beginning of the book that tells me which colors correspond to what! For example, I may tag everything in orange as “character development” or everything in green as “favorite quotes”

💛 I have a specific color for action steps I’d like to take (usually for non-fiction books)

💚 I annotate as I go along 😊 Then I revisit the tabs once I’m done reading

💙 If there is more I want to say about a particular tab, I use a clear sticky note to write directly on the page with a marker!
