Motherhood: Navigating My 1st Month 🤱🏽

It’s been a while! And that’s because my little pistachio is finally here 😄🩵 We welcomed our baby boy Enzo at the end of March and I feel like I’ve been playing catch up ever since. Everything feels like it’s going by so fast and some days I don’t know my head from my bum. The newborn stage is definitely tiring but it has its rewarding moments as we’re learning each other. I know at this age Enzo shouldn’t understand a lot yet but I can’t shake the feeling that sometimes understand us, especially me.

When we first brought him home from the NICU so much changed, mainly my sleep & shower times😫 I swear nothing in life prepares you for this. You can read all the parent books in the world and each child is different, every parent is different and it will take trial and error and currently that’s what’s happening. The more aware he’s becoming, the more we wing each week. Like this week he’s trying to fight sleep during the day and ways to sit up consistently or be carried around to look around and I literally don’t know what to do but hopefully I figure out soon cause his wake window shouldn’t be this long 🥹🥹 HOWEVER, I’m thankful he sleeps pretty decent at night 🙏🏽

As the days fly by they all bring me different things and different feelings. Like some days I laugh at how unserious and cute babies are, others I’m in awe at the slightest thing he does and few days I cry when I feel lost or like I’m not doing a good enough job when I can’t figure out what’s wrong with him right away. As much as my feelings vary, one thing that will never change is the love I feel when my baby looks at me with those bright eyes.
