Being a chronically ill disabled adult is so hard and no one tells you it could happen to anyone. I have a few disabilities but the main 2 are Neuro Myelitis Optica and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (NMO & POTS). NMO is rare whereas POTS is not. Both make my life a living hell though. I live on my own and I can barely do that but I have no one that could live with and help me. I don’t have the money to just hire extra help, and the gov barely covers my bills through SSI. In fact, I still have a few hundred each month to pay out of pocket because that’s how little the gov covers. I can’t go over 2k in assets including my bank accounts, so the gov wants me to stay broke. This amount of anxiety and stress will kill me one day.
