What you ACTUALLY for nursing school (more in cap)

When starting nursing school, I looked at videos to see what I needed to get. Everyone said “an iPad! Stanley cup! Hokas!”

I am here to tell you that you do not need those things…

These are things I actually used and were essential to my first semester of school.

1. Manual BP cuff:

- essential for the Vital Signs check offs

- I still use it for fun

- gives you all the practice you need

2. stethoscope case

- keeps everything organized

- TIP: have different bags for clinical and lecture.

3. FA Davis success books

- these r what pulled me through exams

- has answers in the book with rationales

4. Paper & ink for a printer

- I bought a printer instead of using my schools

- EVERYTHING is on paper in school

- pick up a lot of black pens too

5. Sleep schedule

6. Confidence

- vaporub for stinky pt rooms in clinical

- binder with a clipboard attached for clinical

- little pocket notebook for clinical

- extra pants for clinical
