Miracle Story - Power of Partnering w/ the Word

This is one of my favorite little miracle stories. This was one of the first and most distinct times I’ve seen a fulfillment of God’s promises when I stood on them.

I was going through a brutal time about 4 years ago. I’ve been in a wilderness for years and at this point I was about one year in. I was on a tough phone call outside my house and had my hydroflask with me. When I went back in my house I couldn’t find my hydroflask. Then, I couldn’t find it anywhere outside. I went to a worship night and prayed about it. I know it sounds silly, but I had just gotten the bottle and was really enjoying it. I had already experienced so much loss and a righteous indignation came out of my spirit that I was not to be robbed of anything else and the thief owed me 7x what he stole.

This is from the scripture Proverbs 6:31. I prayed to God, knowing that I may not have had much control over the larger circumstances in my life at the time but I had the faith to take authority over this little thing being stolen. So I did.

Everyday for the next week, I declared “The thief owes me 7x what he stole from me, as it is written in Proverbs 6:31.”

Wouldn’t you know it, EXACTLY ONE WEEK LATER, I went to the same worship night. After, I was waiting in line to order food from somewhere and the girl in front of me turns around and says “YOU.” She pulls out a new purple hydro flask (8 ounces bigger) and says, “I won this in a contest and God told me to give it to you.”

So that was that! God restored what was stolen and turned it into something better. I’m still contending to see larger battles in my life be overturned in this way but I’ll never forget how God used something so simple to show me the power of partnership and standing on His word.
