Icebreaker Annotations + Review

Icebreaker by Hannah Grace was my first ever hockey/sports romance and I am obsessed!!! Please give me all the recs in the comments because I need more.

Summary:

This book is a dual POV told from the perspectives of the two main characters: Anastasia and Nate. They both attend Maple Hills College - Nate is team captain of the hockey team and Anastasia is on the figure skating team and on track to go to the Olympics. Anastasia is focused, driven, and plans out every aspect of her life. When something happens to the boys’ hockey rink, they are forced to share a rink with the figure skating team, throwing a wrench into Anastasia’s strict training schedule. Anastasia does not like hockey players, especially not Nate, but when things get rocky with her skating partner, she may end up needing him.

My thoughts:

This book had me hooked from the beginning just from the wit! The banter between all of the characters had me falling in love with them immediately, which made it easy to be invested in what happened to them. I love Nate and Stassie’s relationship and the fact that they are both so willing to communicate. I loved the focus on therapy, working on yourself, and learning to put your own health and goals first. It was genuinely such a cute and fun romcom, but there was so much more to it than that!
