How To: Bohemian Box Braids In 5 Easy Steps

Since I was a teenager, I’ve been really big on doing my own hairstyles. I watched multiple videos online learning how to do different hairstyles to save money and not have to go to the salon to get my hair done. One of those styles that I learned were box braids.

What I love about braids is that they are low maintenance, they can last you for up to two months or longer, and they are a great protective style when trying to grow out your hair. Here are five easy steps that you can do to learn how to do your own knotless box braids.

In the first step, I have already parted my hair and split them into sections. So now I am taking a crochet needle and crocheting the braiding hair underneath my braids.

Next, I take my hair and the braiding hair and begin to braid them together. Crocheting the braiding hair makes the process a lot easier and it gives you a knotless look.

After I finish crocheting in the braiding hair and working through all of the sections, I dip the hair in hot water. When I do this step I make sure that I am very careful because the water is boiling hot. Dipping the hair in water locks the ends of the braids and gives the braids a wavy look.

Lastly, I apply gel or edge control to give me a sleek look then I style the braids to my liking!
