i know weight and appearance management will always be a pressing issue for all of us regardless of gender… it’s as if it’s drilled into us what “perfect” really looks like 🫤
it took me quite some time to really let that sink in & to acknowledge that “yes. i’m insecure. i’m envious. i need to stop feeling this way, and i will.”
not gunna lie… the beginning will always be the toughest 🫠 i couldn’t run more than 200m (or much worse climb up a short flight of stairs) during the pandemic days 😴 i was just home and i spent 1 and a half years out of the entire circuit breaker sleeping. 😵💫
i’d have the sudden urge and motivation to work out and when i kickstart it, i’d have this thought gush in “i can’t do this. i give up.”
well… i can’t and won’t say that i’ve achieved the body in my wish list, but i’d wanna tippy-tap myself on the shoulder for knowing that i put in whatever i’ve got to achieve a healthier me, mentally and physically! :)
i started out my journey with a bunch of friends! and eventually i got the confidence to do things alone and found comfort doing so 😌
i also tried out different things so i get to discover what i like and dislike,,
i did hiking, swimming, netball, running, gymming, rollerblading, cycling and many more ~
it was then i discovered that i found therapy in swimming and extreme dopamine in netball!
i used these as reinforcers, and allowed myself to venture into trying new things, even if i’m not at all confident about it 😅
i’d say in terms of how i manage myself mentally, the years 2019-2022 were disastrous years that completely changed the person i am and the perspectives i have towards life this very day… and i’ll stand by the little pointer that taking that little leap to improve yourself further goes a long way, even if it means hopping once a day.
put your heart and mind to what YOU really want, leaving just a little gap for the opinions of others.

here’s to achieving the body of your dreams this 2023 as we girlboss our way through… our first lap! chinese new year !

my current weekly grinds ~
- 120x3 Russian Twists
- 10 lapsx50m swim
- 2.4km 5.1pace run
- 40-50kg gradual Barbell Squats
- 25kg Deadlifts
- 10kg Glute Bridge
remember to start slow and to warm up & cool down after each session!
