I absolutely adored my trip to New Orleans last week and want to share what we did because it was perfect! We got in so many things & must do and sees. I just loved the spookiness and fun vibes in the area. I will do a separate post of food spots we ate at as well 🖤

Day 1: Travel 🧳✈️

• Arrive in New Orleans around 11:30am: head to the hotel to check-in/leave our bags until we can check in (we stayed at the Sheraton on Canal Street which was a perfect location since we weren’t renting a car and had to walk everywhere)

• Lunch: we chose to eat at Pat O’Briens and to have one of their famous Hurricane Drinks. If you’re going to NOLA, you have to have a Hurricane from Pat O’Brien’s

The Sazerac House : this is ✨FREE✨ This is a self-guided tour of their whiskey museum. The website says that it’s about 90-minutes but it took us about 30 - 45 minutes. You will learn the history of Sazerac which is the official drink of New Orleans. Along the way they have about 4-5 free tastings which was so fun!

• Back to the hotel to relax/refresh

• Dinner: Napoleon House - this was also a must for New Orleans. Originally built in 1719 as a residence and then in 1914 the Impastato family turned it into a bar and restaurant. They are known for their Mufflettas and Pimm Cups.

• Ghost, Vampire and Voodoo Tour: my favorite part of this whole trip!! We booked through Trip Advisor and Witches Brewing Tours and had Nikki as our tour guide. The guides are all so knowledgeable and give you the history of ghost or vampire rumors that were given over time. Super fun and cool!

DAY 2 🌳💚

• WWII Museum: buy tickets prior to going there to skip the line for admission! This museum was HUGE. If you or someone you are with loves history, plan to be here for 3 hours. We were there for 2.5 hours and we still could’ve been there for another hour or so! The museum is walking distance from the French Quarter.

• Lunch: Toups Meatery - omg delicious!! I believe they have been featured on foodie shows

• City Park: There is SO much to do at City Park. They have an art museum, botanical gardens, children’s amusement park, Cafe Du Monde, Mini Golf and lots of trails and water ways you can rent bikes, kayaks, water bikes, etc. The park is filled with beautiful oak trees and just stunning. We wanted to do the mini golf at City Putt

• Dinner: The Court of Two Sisters - I saw this restaurant on just about every review I saw and it was worth it. They are known for making their bananas foster right at the table in front of you. Brunch is also a popular option here but we decided to do dinner. The Caesar salad and bananas foster were both made table side which was a super cool experience!

Day 3 ⛪️🪦

• Jackson Square : walk over to Jackson Square, explore St. Louis Cathedral, browse the stores.

Cafe Du Monde : the Cafe Du Monde by Jackson Square is the original location and was super busy when we got there around 10am. They do have a to-go line towards the back and it wasn’t a bad wait. We took out beignets and coffee (the frozen café au lait was so freaking delicious) and ate them right in Jackson Square and it was fantastic vibes

• French Market: explore the market vendors and shops

• Lunch: Crescent City Brewhouse - we sat on the balcony upstairs and we could see some of the boats on the water which was cool!

• Cemetery Tour: St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 - our guide was fantastic and was super cool to see!

• Dinner: Tableau by Dickie Brennan & Co. - located right on Jackson Square, they do have an upstairs balcony that overlooks the square but there was a wedding reception up there when we went. Very nice restaurant and delicious food!

Day 4 🚃🌸

• Take the streetcar down to the Garden District and shop on Magazine Street - $3 for the whole day for the street cars which was super nice and you can buy using the app “Le Pass”. NOTE: if it’s a beautiful weekend day and the street car is full, the street cars won’t stop at every stop. If there are a lot of people waiting at your stop, walk to another stop before it and hope the street car will pick you up. We took the street car down St Charles Ave down to Washington Ave. (Walked Magazine street from Washington Ave to Napoleon)

• We were going to go to a festival that was happening close by but by the time we were finished at Magazine street, we were starving for lunch and just wanted to get back.

• Lunch: Chartres House - big menu and had an upstairs balcony. The balcony made me a little nervous with it being slanted but while we were enjoying lunch, a parade went through right below us which was so fun. It also has a great view of Jackson Square.

• Dinner: Cafe Beignet, Canal St. - lol, yes, dessert for dinner. Since it was our last night and we had lunch later, we decided beignets for dinner and they were SO FREAKING GOOD. I’m going to miss beignets.

Day 5

Travel home 💕✈️

Alternative things to do: air boat tour of the bayous, New Orleans school of cooking class, steam boat cruise on the Mississippi, have a drink at the Carousel Bar (it was packed every time we tried to go there), eat at Commanders (I would’ve loved to eat there)

We loved our time in New Orleans and had so much fun! If you’re planning a trip there or it’s on your bucket list, I highly recommend planning in advance to make your trip go smoothly. Also, a lot of restaurants have nicer dress codes so be mindful of this in planning! I hope this is helpful to anyone. :)
