This is where we stayed for our 1st Wedding Anniversary trip to Desaru Coast!
πAddress: Anantara Desaru Coast
We were looking for a nice hotel with a balcony + private pool + sea view, but it seems like the only one available was another resort which was always sold out and out of our budget. But what caught our eye was Anantara and we decided to compromise the private pool with their super deluxe corner sea view room π€© We learnt from one of our taxi driver that Anantara was also the 2nd most expensive resort there, but it was still pretty affordable with how luxe the amenities felt.
π Check-in
We arrived at about 1pm and was greeted by friendly staff.
The reception directed us to what I initially thought was their infinity pool.
We were served with welcome drinks and cold towels and the receptionist came with all the check-in documents.
Super fuss-free and no long queues (maybe cuz we arrived on Monday).
Deposit was MYR1000.
πͺThe Room
From their photos on Agoda, the balcony looked huge and we were not disappointed!
We had a front gate which led to a separate front door our corner balcony.
Room was clean and spacious.
Bathroom was big and we each had a luggage area, with a sliding mirror window that looks out to the bedroom.
There was a Nespresso machine which is always a bonus. βοΈ

π³π₯ Breakfast
Complimentary breakfast starts at 6:30am - 10:30am at the Turmeric restaurant.
The food presentation and layout was gorgeous and appetising. They even had a honeycomb! π―
Great variety of juices and desserts, and of course, there was an egg station.
There was a resident kitty that greeted us, so cute! π»
Food was not bad, but dough-products such as π§π₯ and even their roti-prata π« were tough.
ποΈ Pool and Beach
They had 1 regular pool with a bar with happy hour starting at 4pm. πΈ
And another beachfront infinity pool with happy hour starting at 6pm. πΉ
The staff came running with beach towels when we arrived and the food was yummy!
The beach and sand were clean and no litter lining the shore.
Golden hour was breath-taking. π₯Ή
ππ»ββοΈ Daily Activities
At the lobby youβll find a schedule of their daily activities which include:
π§πΌββοΈ Morning workouts at 7:30am
πͺ· Workshops like coffee/lip scrub making
π¦ Bird watching
π² Nature walks
β½οΈ Euro2024 was screening at the pool restaurant nightly and they even made a little score board
ππ Transport
We took a WTS bus service that departs Suntec at 9am and sends you directly to your hotel.
The bus will stop by Legoland before heading to Desaru.
GrabCar was difficult to get but the hotel can arrange taxis for you.
MYR60 per return trip - we went to the Mall, to another resort for meals.
We returned to SG via the WTS bus with the same route via Legoland.
π« The Experience
The service was top-notched, every staff that walks by smiled and greeted us.
The ambience was super relaxing and the environment was clean - we were surprisingly aware that there were no mosquitoes!!
We mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary and the receptionist remembered and wished us happy anniversary after sending us to our room. π₯°
They even arranged a turn down service to decorated our room and sent us a little cake. π°
βοΈThe only off-putting thing was spotting a donation charge of MYR5 per night on our bill when we checked out. Not that we were not willing to donate, but it felt like it was slipped into our room charges and if we did not ask what it was, they would just not mention it. If they had at least offered an option to remove it, and let the guests decide if theyβd like to donate, we would have felt it was a bit less dodgy.
Other than that, weβd happily rate our stay:
